Second Full Committee Meeting: Welcomes ICC Unity and Charts Future Course

Non-Resident Nepali Association, National Coordination Council Hong Kong (NRNA HK) successfully concluded its Second "Purna Samiti" (Full Committee) Meeting of the 2025-2027 tenure on December 1, 2025. Chaired by President Mr. Anu Rai, the meeting was attended by the Executive Committee, Advisor Committee, and Patron Council.

Tribute to Tai Po Fire Victims The meeting began on a solemn note with a one-minute silence observed in memory of the victims of the catastrophic fire at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po. The committee expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families.

Celebrating NRNA ICC Unity A major focus of the meeting was the historic "Broad Unity" agreement reached between the two factions of the NRNA International Coordination Council (ICC) in Nepal, witnessed by the Right Honourable Prime Minister. The committee welcomed this development as a positive milestone that has infused new enthusiasm among Nepalis worldwide. NRNA Hong Kong resolved to fully support this unity, which strengthens the organization's non-political and social character.

Update on Relief & Upcoming Events

  • Tai Po Fire Relief: The General Secretary updated the committee on the fundraising efforts. Phase 1 support (HK$10,000) from the Executive Committee has already been deposited into the government fund. The meeting acknowledged the generous direct contributions from Pun Magar Society Hong Kong (HK$15,000), Tamu Tyo Hyula Hong Kong (HK$10,000), Hong Kong Tamang Ghedung and other individual donors.

  • Charity Hike: The committee finalized plans for the "NRNA HK Hike" on December 21, 2025, promoting "Health and Unity".

The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all patrons, advisors, and members to work together for the betterment of the Nepali community in Hong Kong.
